We wanted to take this time to express our heartfelt love, thanks and appreciation to each of you who have been a part of our community and supported our embassy in the work we are doing to establish God's rule and Kingdom in the earth. We know that this has been a difficult year for many, with challenges ranging from the global economic recession to the H1N1 (Swineflu) pandemic that has posed a health risk on a global scale. As creation rushes forward toward the return of our King and the end of all things (pertaining to this natural earth and order), it has become very important that we be aligned with those who can properly discern God's voice and help position His Kingdom citizens, called the Church, to execute what Jesus has finished and help hasten His return.
Regardless of what has taken place this past year or even this past decade, I want to encourage you to forgot those things which are behind and press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. It's time to turn setbacks into comebacks, desperation into determination, and failure into faith. Let this new decade that we are entering into become your decade of destiny. Nothing must stand in our way of fulfilling God's plan and purpose concerning our lives. For as we allow God to be magnified and increased within us, our own selves – including our own selfish desires, interests and pursuits – will be diminished before Him and His glory shall cover and fill the whole earth.
Whether you choose to celebrate Christmas during this season as many people do or not, it is important that you recognize that the birth of Jesus signaled the inauguration of a new Kingdom in the earth. It was not about Christmas trees, Santa Claus or many of the other delightful traditions that we practice today. In fact, this particular holiday has become so commercialized and merchandised as greedy retailers compete for a profit that it is very easy to see the imprint of Babylon upon the entire celebration. This is not to say that Christmas should not be celebrated, but it should make us wise to the fact that we need to avoid some of the excesses and traditions that seek to promote the very kingdom and culture that Jesus came to displace.
Christmas has become nothing more than a time to indulge in gluttony, drunkenness and selfishness by many, but it should not be so for us. We should not become a product of culture, but a people of a counter-culture that is diametrically opposed to this world's system.
As we celebrate Christmas this season, let us remember that it is about a King and His Kingdom coming to earth. When He came the first time, the vast majority of people missed it because they could not discern the time and the season they were in. When Jesus came the first time he was totally rejected by the very ones He was sent to, because He didn't fit into their religious or theological preconceptions. They crucified the King because they were not willing to receive the Kingdom He came to bring. It is no different today, because while most of us have busied ourselves with the festivities of the season, we remain totally oblivious to the significance of that event and its implications to us today. We tire ourselves with endless activities and festivities, yet we have totally ignored and rejected the very One we claim to celebrate, and the very Kingdom He came to restore.
Let us make sure to put Christ at the center of everything we do during this season. He alone is deserving of our honor and our worship.
Thank you once again for your love and support during the past year; and may the blessing and favor of God be upon you and your household abundantly in the coming year. Remember, this is your decade of destiny!
Have a Merry Christmas!
